Mission Latvia

As a part of GGWO Summer Harvest 2024 we are going to arrange the third international RIBI summer Bible school in Riga, the 800-year-old capital city of Latvia. Our first RIBI took place in 2019, followed by the second in 2022, but ever since 2018 we have arranged summer events in Latvia every year – and mission trips for groups of different sizes at other times as well.

Please plan to be in Riga already on June 11 and stay until June 16, so you can spend more time with the local Christians, see the beautiful old city, evangelise in its colourful parks – and maybe even visit the several miles long sandy beach of Jurmala outside of the city.

Our distinguished guest speaker on the theme of the Kingdom of God will be Dr. Mikael Toll who has served 30 years as the pastor of our church in Stockholm, Sweden. His unique teaching style blends depth with humor, and we are very happy to be able to have him in Riga with us again. Learn more about his life here.

The classes and daily times of worship and prayer will be arranged in the beautiful premises of the Latvian Biblical Centre not far from the centre of the city (Krāslavas iela 27), and for lunches and coffee times there are lots of inexpensive cosy restaurants and coffee shops all around the city.

For accommodation, we recommend the Rixwell Gertrude hotel, located less than 1 km from the Biblical Centre, or one of the many AirBnb apartments available in the city. Please book your accommodations early, as Riga is a popular tourist destination in the summer. Getting around the city is easy, with the central area being compact and accessible by foot, or you can take a taxi for a few euros or use the inexpensive public transportation.
